In Store Now | Moncler W Collection
Moncler W Collection by designer Yosuke Aizawa of White Mountaineering.
Enough said…well, almost (only because we have SO MUCH to say about it)!
When we first got a glance of this collection last season, our faces lit up with a combination of wonderment, delight, shock and outright joy. Yosuke Aizawa of White Mountaineering is a designer that we, at the store, respect and admire for his amazing design style and technical know-how, which he honed while working as an assistant to Junya Watanabe. His collaboration with Moncler was a dream come true for us.
Yosuke Aizawa of White Mountaineering used his vast knowledge of performance fabrics, his eye for detailing and Moncler’s most popular silhouettes to develop and design a collection that is unique and inspiring while using cotton-nylon blend chambray, woven Fairs Isle wool inserts, and coated leather accents as the staple design elements for the collection. Aizawa and the Moncler design team even went through and carefully added reinforcements in denim and leather in key areas of each garment.
This mixture of styles within the collection fuses the expected elements of both Moncler and White Mountaineering into a well-executed and smooth assortment of cold weather awesomeness!
Did we also mentioned that the collection is only available to a handful (10%) of retailers (including the Moncler stores themselves) worldwide? Threads and Needles is one of the select few to carry it!
Fashion history is happening right now at the store so come on by to get yourself a piece of it!
In Store Now | Kate Spade Bags
Our latest selects of bags from Kate Spade will help you look cute and stylish for the fall season.
In Store Now | Levi’s Vintage Clothing Tees
We cover the 50’s through the 70’s with these two LVC tees from the Icons and Orange Tab collection.
The first tee is the 1950s Sportswear Tee modeled after the iconic tee that Marlon Brando wore in the film, “The Wild One.” It is made from 100% cotton and bears the original 50s-era Levi’s® Sportswear of California label.
The next tee is the 1970’s Orange Tab Batwing Tee. LVC says that “Throughout the 60s and 70s, Levi Strauss and Co. produced youthful and affordable sportswear items to accompany its range of stylish Orange Tab jeans. The 1970s Levi’s T-shirt by Levi’s® Vintage Clothing features all new and original graphics on a 1970s-style slim fitting t-shirt that is similar to those that Levi’s® produced in that era…all are made on the same single jersey 100% cotton tee and later heavily washed down to get a softer, more worn-in feel.”
Both tees feel as wonderful as they look so stop by to check them out for yourself.
In Store Now | Engineered Garments LDT Jacket and Vest
The Navy Wool “LDT” uniform jacket from Engineered Garments is like getting two jackets in one. The jacket has a stand-up collar with button fastening that converts the 3-button blazer into a high collar nehru-style jacket. Did we also mention that it has three front flap pockets, a single rear vent, round hem and a fully lined interior with more pockets on the inside?!
The LDT vest is made from the same material and is fully lined with six buttons, four pockets AND perfectly complements the LDT jacket.
In Store Now | Miansai
This fall has been pretty exciting for us as one our favorite brands, Miansai, is now in store.
Miansai is the brainchild of Michael Saiger and his “…aesthetic lies in the nexus of vintage american style, traditional craftsmanship, and old New England…the handmade designs are rustic, classic and timeless, leaving those who wear them with a reminiscent sense of youth and ageless feel.”
We couldn’t agree more. We’ve loved this brand since inception and we are proud to carry it at the store.
In Store Now | New Balance Made In England 576 “Tea Pack”
We started a revolution over tea and now New Balance plans to start another uproar with the “Tea Pack” in a trio of colorways that celebrates the UK’s most beloved drinks like Fresh Peppermint, Earl Grey and English Breakfast with all of the shoes having a combination of premium suede, mesh and ENCAP-enhanced soles.
And to further distinguish them, each pair also features an individualized tongue label and comes finished with embroidered Union Jacks and specially-designed “tea” insoles.
Limited to only a few retailers, these “Tea Pack’s” are moving fast so come by the store to get a taste of these wonderful shoes from New Balance.
In Store Now | Tory Burch Kaitlin Pump
I think that Tory Burch describes these heels the best by saying that they are a “… modern take on the classic cap-toe, the Kaitlin Pump is impossibly chic in black quilted leather with a contrast metallic gold toe and small logo. The manageable mid-heel height makes it as comfortable as it is stylish.”
Enough said, now visit the shop and give your outfit a dose of chic with these beauties.
In Store Now | Toms Wedges
These closed-toe wedges in cobalt blue from Toms are the perfect shoe to highlight your outfit for those nights on the town while still being comfortable enough to dance the night away.

In Store Now | Saturday Surf NYC Tees
We have more great tees from Saturday Surf. With so many choices, it’s hard to narrow it down to just one favorite, but we must say, the USA tee is in high contention among the store’s staff.
In Store Now | LVC Fall 2013 Icon Collections Shirts
The pieces from the LVC Icon collections are reproductions of the most iconic Levi’s designs from the last 140 years.
Two of the pieces that we have from this collection is the 1950’s Shorthorn and Longhorn shirt.
LVC says that the Shorthorn Shirt was “created during a time when Levi’s® sponsored rodeos all around America and proudly featured the ‘Saddleman’ as its company icon…the Shorthorn Shirt retained the bold colors and inventive check patterns of western shirts, but was stripped of the flashy details that the rodeo circuit preferred to flaunt. Constructed out of 100% cotton flannel, it featured two flap pockets, a shorter body and a slightly boxy fit.”
The Longhorn Shirt is slightly different and “like its brother, the Shorthorn Shirt, it was designed for hard working ranchers and city slickers that wanted to be like them. The Longhorn Shirt however was slimmer and longer and had a more pointed collar. The Levi’s® Vintage Clothing 1950s Longhorn Shirt has the same fit and features as the original and comes in a lighter weight brushed cotton. It has coated wood buttons and an interior label depicting a long horn bull that says ‘Authentic Western Wear’ on it.”
Both shirts have amazing details but don’t just take our word for it. Come by the shop and try on a little bit of Levi’s iconic history.
